Adam has joined our Capalaba practice 3 days a week, and works primarily with children, adolescents and their families.
Adam received his Bachelor of Psychological Sciences and Master of Counselling from the University of Queensland and is now a registered psychologist with the Psychologists Board of Australia. Adam began his career working in the government sector as a Child Sexual Abuse Counsellor for children, then moved into the NGO sector to continue working with abused and traumatised children and their families in an outreach service.
Adam has a passion for working with children, adolescents and their families dealing with a range of issues including behavioural issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, parenting, social skills, adjustment issues, attachment issues, and low self-esteem. When working with clients Adam draws from a broad range of interventions to tailor a treatment plan to the clients specific strengths and needs. These interventions include, but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Strengths based and Narrative therapies, Family therapies, Expressive therapies, Mindfulness, and Psychoeducational approaches.
Adam continues to work as a Sexual abuse counsellor part-time for a charity organisation in an out reach capacity. This role has provided Adam with knowledge and experience in delivering psychological services
in a broad range of settings including the home and school, and also provides Adam experience in working closely with parents, school staff and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
