What is the Post-Natal Depression group program?

Most women feel ‘blue’ and weepy a few days after they have a baby.  For some women it is more than just having a few bad days.  If you think that you may be suffering from more than just the ‘baby blues’, then this program is for you.  You are not alone; up to one in six women giving birth in Australia are affected by post-natal depression.

What will I learn from the Post-Natal Depression group program?

This Cognitive-Behavioural group program will assist in teaching you skills aimed at overcoming post-natal depression and will enable you to identify and challenge negative, self-defeating thoughts and behaviours.

How much will it cost?

Clients who have a Greater Metro South Brisbane Medicare Local (GMSBML – previously known as SPHN) Peri-Natal Referral (Group) will be able to access this program for free.  Clients who are not eligible for the GMSBML Peri-Natal Referral can still participate – please contact the practice for cost information.  Medicare Rebates will still apply.
