PSYCHOLOGIST

Amanda is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Since completing her honours degree in Psychology and gaining professional registration, Amanda has worked with adults, children, and families in various community settings. This includes work in the not-for profit sector with Kids Helpline and Parentline, employment services sector, a drug and alcohol outreach facility, and in private practice.

Early on Amanda developed a special interest in health promotion, incorporating both psychological and physical interventions known to enhance mental health. She is also passionate about the use of brain-based therapy to support those presenting with panic and anxiety, trauma and grief, and depression.

Amanda uses an integrated therapeutic style grounded in a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Strengths Based and Solutions Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. Amanda values a post-structuralist approach, working in collaboration with her clients to draw on their strengths and resilience in order to move towards their goals for change.
