Anthony Jamieson
Hi, I’m Anthony,
Before venturing into the field of psychology, I spent over thirty years working as a tradesman in the construction and mining industries. During this time, I developed a strong foundation in problem-solving, resilience, teamwork and management, mentorship, and conflict resolution.
My journey into psychology was profoundly shaped by my personal experience with suicide, bereavement, and trauma. My experience instilled a deep empathy and a strong desire to support others facing similar challenges. It has given me a unique perspective and a genuine understanding of grief, loss and the critical importance of mental health support.
After completing my Bachelor of Psychology with Honours, I continued my pursuit of knowledge and skill in the field and completed my Master of Professional Psychology. This path has provided me with solid knowledge and understanding of best practice, evidence-based therapies and principles. I strive to blend my diverse experiences, knowledge, and training to provide holistic and empathetic care. I am committed to creating a strong therapeutic partnership with my clients by providing a safe, non-judgemental environment. I utilise several treatment modalities in my practice, including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
My mission is to help as many people as I can and reduce the stigma regarding mental health. I aim to assist my clients in harnessing their strengths and understanding that adversity can yield changes in understanding themselves, others, and the world and can result in a positive outcome.
