Charmaine is currently completing her Counselling placement with The Psych Professionals.
Charmaine has always been interested in understanding the mind’s inner workings and why people do the things they do. Throughout her life, Charmaine has found herself drawn into supporting others. Whether this has been through spontaneous conversations in random places or bringing groups of women together for meditation, connecting and empowering other women has been a continual theme.
Charmaine is a qualified and registered Clinical Hypnotherapist with a successful private practice. She is in the final stages of completing her Bachelor of Counselling degree with The Australian Institute of Applied Psychology.
While working with her clients to assist in changing long-standing habits and behaviours, she discovered that underneath many of these behaviours were unresolved trauma. Thus her passion for understanding and working with trauma began and has only deepened throughout her degree.
Throughout her counselling degree, Charmaine has worked supporting women who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death and has been involved in a trauma recovery project for women who have experienced domestic and family violence. She has a passion for supporting clients who are working towards rebuilding their lives after trauma, particularly those who have left a domestic and family violence situation.
Charmaine’s collaborative and down to earth approach provides her clients with the space to safely explore whatever has brought them to counselling. She believes that every woman has the right to feel safe, heard and understood and works only at a pace to which they feel comfortable.
