Jarrod is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. He holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours from Griffith University.
Jarrod has experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced profound emotional, behavioural, cognitive and social problems as a result of trauma and neglect. He has worked with children experiencing early disruptions in attachment, to help them develop healthy relationships, cope with stress, participate in, contribute to and appreciate the fullness of life. Jarrod has also applied his skills in a forensic setting managing a case load of complex issues ranging from mood disorders, substance-use, psychotic-spectrum disorders and personality disorders.
Jarrod is passionate about working with people across the developmental life-span who have difficulty regulating painful and distressing emotions by helping them develop skills in a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere. He can work with parents and children with a range of issues using age-appropriate strategies to cope with day-to-day struggles.
Jarrod draws from a wide range of evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, solution-focussed therapy, attachment-based therapy, interpersonal neuropsychology and the neurosequential model of therapeutics.
