Louise Williams

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents and adults across a range of developmental, cognitive, and emotional presentations.
I began practising as a psychologist in 2004 and obtained my Clinical endorsement in 2007. Since returning to the Gold Coast in 2009, I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychologist at University of Queensland.
I have worked in a variety of government, school and private practice settings delivering therapy and assessments across the lifespan. In 2016, I shifted my focus to primarily supporting children under 12, and by 2020 I transitioned into a dedicated assessment role. While I initially specialised in developmental assessments for young children, my current practice encompasses assessments for individuals across all ages and abilities, including autism, ADHD, learning differences, cognitive profiles, and disability supports.
I have a strong interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, and I value a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach. I strive to ensure that my assessments are not only thorough and evidence-informed, but also meaningful and accessible for the individuals and families I support. I recognise the importance of feeling heard and validated – especially when seeking clarity around a possible diagnosis – and I am committed to helping families navigate these processes with confidence.
In addition to my professional experience, I am also a parent to a child with disability. This personal experience has deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to advocacy and practical, family-friendly recommendations. I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating systems of support, and I bring that insight into my work with clients.
Outside of psychology, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and spending time with my two children, husband and mini-groodle, Sox. I also have an interest in cheerleading (thanks to my daughter) and youth sport development, and I recently completed my Level 1 Credential as a cheerleading coach.
If you are seeking a comprehensive assessment or support to better understand your or your child’s profile, I’d be happy to help.
