Melanie has always had a passion for Psychology and helping those around her, which she has carried throughout her life. She has personally experienced the help that therapy can provide for a family unit and wants nothing more than to impart this to families and individuals in need.
Melanie supports her clients, giving them the tools they need to combat depression, anxiety, grief and phobias. She has a client based approach to therapy, which is tailoring different techniques to suit her clients. This includes regular checking in’s during her sessions to assess what is and isn’t working for her clients, and to ensure the therapeutic process is as effective as possible.
Melanie is motivated to come to work by her passion for helping others and to support them to improve their wellbeing. Her goal is to aid her clients with the tools they need to live their best lives and, (in the most polite way possible) to never need to see her again!
Melanie is a registered Provisional Psychologist with the Psychology board of Australia and in the midst of completing the 2 year supervision component of her work, prior to receiving the title of General Psychologist.
What can you expect from your first session with Melanie?
Your first session with Melanie will be different to any following sessions. This is because the first session allows Melanie to get to know you and to better understand what you are currently feeling and the situation that brought you to the session. If you are comfortable, you will be asked some questions about your life and background. This will help gauge an understanding of what needs to be worked on and how Melanie will help you to reach your goals.
