Rachael Davis

CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGIST

Rachael has always been drawn to working with children and has great belief in providing them with support at the start of their lives. She is passionate about assisting her child clients to build skills and develop frameworks, which will help them to better function throughout their lives.

Rachael is driven by the small successes of the children she supports. She often sees child clients with multiple and complex issues and finds these small wins build up to large changes in an individuals overall wellbeing and functioning. She loves working with her clients to come out on the other side of the challenges they face and empowers her clients to develop skills to change their lives for the better.

Rachael has worked in private practice for the past three years and has a special interest in working with children aged 0-12. She works with her child clients to assist them to develop skills for emotional regulation, executive functioning and social skills development, including communication and conflict management. Rachael finds herself particularly working with clients with anxiety, phobias, confidence, resilience and has experience working with clients who are struggling with their ASD and ADHD.

Rachael has a strong belief on working alongside her clients, basing her therapy around the needs, personality, strengths and likes of the children she supports. She loves to learn through working with her clients and uses play based intervention and practical ways of doing and showing in her sessions.

Rachael also works with families of her child clients to assist in development of strategies to ensure her clients are set up for success. She also has a strong belief in the importance of providing children with a positive experience with help seeking to allow them to be more likely to access services in the future, should the need arise.

Rachael commenced study to be a psychologist as she was interested in the way people interact and how the human brain works. She found this interest developed into a love of supporting clients to work through, and grow from the difficult things life sometimes throws at us. She has completed a Bachelor of Psychology and her 2 years of supervised practice to be a registered Psychologist.
