Rebecca McWilliam


Rebecca is a Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia who completed a Bachelor of Psychology at James Cook University. Rebecca has experience working within a variety of settings including the Australian Defence Force, helping individuals through rehabilitation and helping them gain meaningful post-service employment through use of psychological assessments and therapy; working within a forensic setting focusing on rehabilitation of clients and the assessment and intervention of clients experiencing grief and loss, relapse prevention and other complex issues; and most recently through behaviour support working with clients within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

As a result, Rebecca is adept at building relationships and working with clients from diverse backgrounds and populations. Rebecca is client focussed in her approach and works predominantly from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy framework, utilising aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, including mindfulness, within her work. She values feedback and questions, and aims to meet each individual’s needs with understanding and individual care.

Rebecca has a strong interest in helping people find meaningful employment through assessments and strengths based exercises and working with people who suffer from chronic pain. Rebecca also enjoys working alongside individuals with concerns relating to self-confidence, social skills, grief and loss, relationship issues, anxiety, stress, weight loss management, illness and/or injury, Post-natal depression and women’s health issues. Rebecca is passionate about working collaboratively and non-judgementally to help her clients achieve goals and build resilience in all aspects of their life.
