PSYCHOLOGIST

Sarah is a Psychologist and Neuropsychotherapist specialising in developmental trauma and neglect. Sarah has a special interest in working with the following:

  • Stress, anxiety and depression
  • Couples and family counselling
  • Anger management
  • Substance addiction
  • Grief and loss
  • Parent-child attachment difficulties
  • Developmental trauma (including associated externalising presentations such as ADHD, ODD, PTSD, etc)
  • Relationship-developing behaviour management and parenting support from in-utero (for parents to be) and throughout childhood
  • Adolescent mental health
  • Clients involved with the Department of Communities, Child Safety; especially those with a transgenerational  experience  of Child Safety involvement

To assist clients in moving forward, Sarah utilises a range of strategies from:

  • Psychodynamic therapy
  • Neuropsychotherapy (for both children and adults)
  • Solution-Focussed therapy
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Trauma and attachment frameworks (Circle of Security, P.A.C.E, etc)
  • Collaborative Problem Solving
  • Play therapy

As with other Clinicians at The Psych Professionals, Sarah believes strongly in the benefits of early intervention, and providing an experience that promotes the development of a strong therapeutic rapport to support even the most resistant clients to feel comfortable to engage.

Sarah is able to provide a productive and supportive therapeutic experience for private patients, those wishing to self refer, or via the Medicare Better Access program.
