CLINICAL LEAD - PSYCHOLOGIST

Hi, I’m Suzanne,

I am an experienced Psychologist, having worked in the in the mental health field for the last 18 years, providing psychological therapy to individuals and organisations. Over the course of my clinical practice, I have supported individuals facing an array of mental health conditions and concerns, including but not limited to eating issues, childhood trauma, domestic and family violence, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence and grief and loss.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults and seniors. This diverse experience has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced at different life stages and an appreciation for the individual experiences within them.

In my practice, I utilise a strengths-based and client-centred framework, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT and DBT. I believe in empowering clients by focusing on their inherent strengths and fostering their long-term well-being.  I aim to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship where my clients feel understood, respected and supported. Together, we will tailor an approach to meet each of your unique needs, helping you achieve your mental health goals.

In addition to my work with my clients, I also support the clinical team here at The Psych Professionals. With over nine years in Clinical Leadership roles, I bring my expertise in supporting managers and business leaders in developing their people’s mental health and well-being. Together, we develop their skills within the work environment and guide their teams towards effective mental health care. My experience can help leaders enhance their skills in managing clinical and operational challenges, fostering a respectful and high-performing team environment, and building robust professional relationships. Given my experience in this area, my clinical skills also extend to supporting my clients with their own mental health needs whilst taking into account the challenges they experience as managers and leaders within their professional lives.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I believe in the importance of a balanced life and strive to model this in my self-care practices.

What you can expect at our first appointment?

In our initial session, you can expect a safe, confidential and supportive environment where I will actively listen to your concerns and gather relevant background information.  This session will allow us to establish a collaborative relationship and discuss your goals and expectations for therapy.  Together, we will identify the key focus areas and develop a tailored plan that addresses your specific needs, ensuring a constructive and personalised therapeutic process moving forward.
