Robyn believes in a person-centered and individualised approach to therapy, focusing on the individual needs of every person with the overall aim of improving quality of life and enjoyment. She engages a holistic approach, incorporating many different therapies and approaches to ensure that she meets the needs of each individual.

 

Robyn is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours which she obtained from James Cook University in North Queensland.

Robyn began her career as a Provisional Psychologist working with adults within the Criminal Justice System, with a focus on brief intervention and the management of risk associated with self-harm and suicide. She then moved on to work for an NGO within the Disability Sector, working across the lifespan, primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavioural Difficulties, and Intellectual Disability. She also has extensive experience working within a private practice, with a focus on Child and Adolescent Psychology.

Robyn primarily uses interventions based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Processing Therapy – Trauma Focused (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Approaches, and Play Therapy.

Robyn’s passion lies in her work with children and adolescents. Her focus being improving the quality of life for children and adolescents struggling with behavioural difficulties, bullying, social deficits, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Robyn enjoys working with entire families to improve general concerns, with a focus on clients living a life which is important to them. Robyn has a special interest in working within a trauma informed approach, assisting her clients with severe trauma backgrounds to adjust to everyday life.
