Robyn believes in a person-centered and individualised approach to therapy, focusing on the distinctive needs of every person with the overall aim of supporting people in changing their lives. She engages a holistic approach, believing therapy to be a collaborative adventure, incorporating many different therapies and approaches to ensure that she meets the needs of each individual.

Robyn is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours which she obtained from James Cook University in North Queensland.

Robyn began her career as a Provisional Psychologist working with adults within the Criminal Justice System, with a focus on brief intervention for Depression, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, and the management of risk associated with self-harm and suicide. She then moved on to work for an NGO within the Disability Sector, working across the lifespan, primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavioural Difficulties, and Intellectual Disability. She also has extensive experience working within Private Practice, with experience across the lifespan, helping all to learn effective tools to make positive changes in their lives.

 

Robyn’s clinical experience and training primarily includes DBT, Mindfulness, Crisis Counselling, CBT, IPT, Attachment and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She works from a collaborative, strengths-based approach, assisting and supporting clients and families to be the authors of their own lives.

Robyn is committed to assisting each individual to build on their existing strengths to live their best possible life, and believes that everyone should have a safe and healing place to work through life’s difficulties.
