Helping Children with Autism Referral
A specialist referral is also available for children with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders, known as the Helping Children with Autism referral.
The child must obtain this referral by their 13th birthday from an eligible Paediatrician or Psychiatrist.
This referral entitles the child to 4 assessment sessions and 20 therapy sessions with Medicare rebates (per lifetime, up to age 15 years).
The sessions may be utilised with a Psychologist and Speech Pathologist.
